why YOU Should get involved
During His short, but undeniably powerful, time on earth, Jesus Christ, the son of God, said the greatest commandment is, Love: Love God, and love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:36-40
Who is our neighbor? Read the story of the Good Samaritan Luke 10:25-37, to understand what Jesus requires from man.
Jesus said that we are all One: "And the glory which you gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:" John 17:21-23

How YOU can get involved
Following are some ideas to help you get started in your community:
"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Once we have a basic understanding of the needs in our area, then we can begin to provide each person, individually, or groups of people, with the information and opportunities required to improve their condition, both physically and spiritually.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
Be the Light.
- Locate the people who are in need in your area. You probably drive by some of them every day: In your community, downtown, at intersections, parks, community centers, walking down the street.
- Get to know the people. Ask them questions, so you can assist them, specifically.
- Ask them if you can pray for them.
- Remind them someone loves them: Jesus Christ. Plant the seed.
- What do they need? want? desire?
- How long have they been homeless?
- Do they have any income? This is useful for government housing programs.
- Create and hand out Blessing Bags.
- Carry $5 fast food gift cards with you, and give people a hot meal and a kind word.
- Stop by your local youth community center with Blessing Bags. Bring pizzas and have a slice with the kids. Talk about God and Jesus when you can. Plant the seed. Invite them to church. Be kind.
- Give a bag of groceries to someone living in a tent. Many people live in tents year-round, even in snowy states like Massachusetts. Adopt a tent or two for the winter, or year-round.
- Contact community organizations, community centers, Girl's/Boy's Clubs, local shelters, and pregnancy resource centers, for volunteer and donation information.
- Contact local area food banks, pantries and thrift stores, and check websites for donation information.
- Pay attention to the needs around you. Often people may need assistance in your very own family, church, place of employment or neighborhood.
- Give (your time, requested donations, financial support) to your church, as well as other missions and ministries, or a favorite charity.
- Pray for everyone with whom you come in contact; bless people anonymously; be a blessing in disguise; share a kind word and a warm meal.
- Always be on the lookout for opportunities to improve the condition of the people with whom you come in contact.
